Nepal–Tibet Border Disaster: What Langtang Trekkers and Kailash Travelers Need to Know?

Important Travel Message The disaster does not mean that the entire Langtang region or all of Nepal is unsafe. The immediate concern is the affected Rasuwa–Bhote Koshi corridor and the Nepal–Tibet border infrastructure. Travelers should distinguish between affected areas and destinations elsewhere in Nepal. For the coming days, safety and verified local information should take priority over fixed travel schedules. Do not rely on old maps, social media posts, or pre-disaster travel information when making a decision. We strongly recommend that travelers wait for confirmation from the relevant Nepalese authorities, border authorities, and their registered local tour/trekking operator before entering the affected corridor. For travelers already in Nepal: remain in contact with your tour operator, avoid affected river valleys and roads, and follow evacuation or travel instructions issued by local authorities.
