The Manaslu Circuit is the great "last frontier" of Nepalese trekking, a 177 km loop around the world's eighth-highest mountain that still feels like an expedition country. Because the region sits against the Tibet border, numbers are controlled by a restricted area. Permit, and the trail remains gloriously uncrowded compared to Everest or Annapurna. You climb from steamy subtropical gorges on the Budhi Gandaki River through Gurung and Tibetan-Ngalung villages, past the giant wall of Manaslu's south face at Samagaun, and over the glaciated Larkya La (5,106 m) before dropping into the Annapurna side at Bhimtang. A full acclimatization day at Samagaun with a hike toward Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m) and Birendra Lake makes this one of the safest-paced 14-day high-altitude itineraries in Nepal.
Why choose this classic Manaslu Circuit trek: the classic Soti Khola approach—the route every competitor sells. We keep it because it's the fastest road access, but we've fixed what others get wrong: a real acclimatization day (not just "rest"), 360° viewpoint stops at Syalla and Pungyen Gompa, and a weather-decision protocol for Larkya La.
